原文:  Honestly, I'd always known the name to be masculine, and was struck (and not in a negative way!) when I came across this used by a woman. For those were were making comments that it doesn't sound remotely feminine and therefore shouldn't be used in that way, it is actually a traditionally feminine name that just declined in popularity in girls and grew in boys, so it's mainly a societal thing that it doesn't sound "right" to be used as a feminine name.
