原I was born a Todd.I had it legally changed to my current name (a year ago).I never liked it. I never liked it being used in reference to me. And I never liked the way that it sounded.Maybe it is because I grew up in an abusive family where the sound of it coming at me felt like a swear word? I dunno. I just know that I disliked it terribly.It was hard for me to pronounce without having to tell someone over and over and OVER again what I just said (before finally just spelling it out). And I was the brunt of so many horrible jokes because of it.I had a very difficult time with Todd and I am glad I changed it.Furthermore, whenever I see Todd associated with anyone in film or television they are usually some anti social creep character.The one Todd that I loved in a movie was the Todd in "Easy A" starring Emma Stone.

原I never knew it meant fox in English or Death in German when spelled with one d, which interestingly enough the person who said Tod in The Fox and The Hound was spelled with one d was right. I kind of figured this name was used when a parent forgot the fact that a child is only a "Toddler" for so long, kids grow up fast. I know because my sweet little brother did and I was in absolutely no way ready for him to turn 18 last August.Now knowing it is not a name derived from the word Toddler, I think I like it better, though I am not certain because I have German family and "Death" as a meaning for such a nice name is not great. So, I would probably never end up using this personally, but I think it is Charming, considering Fox and The Hound was one of those movies I used to watch over and over every day as a child, driving my sister mad, ha!

原Fabulous name. I'm a little biased because it's my husband's name. He fits his name well. "Todd" is concise but strong sounding, it's a name that doesn't need to go on and on. That's how he is. Very intelligent, a strong leader, but he can be gentle and kind as well. It's funny how short names like Todd end up getting enlongated for nickname's sake. He's had people close to him call him "Todd-o", "Todder", etc., though he doesn't care much for any of those nicknames. :)
