原My youngest daughter is named Piper Amanda. I am a serious Charmed fan and never heard the name Piper in everyday life. I chose the name Piper because it is unique and very uncommon. Amanda is my grandmother's and mothers middle name. So I chose Piper Amanda for its uniqueness and to honor the 2 most important women in my life. Piper is a lovely name.

原This is my daughter's name, and I know quite a few under the age of 2. We've had nothing but compliments with this name. Everyone loves it. It is also 97 on the SSA list from 2013, so I think we'll be seeing this name a lot more. We originally had picked the name "Aeryn," but became increasingly concerned about the aggravation it would give her all her life for having to correct its spelling. When I heard "Piper" used as a girl's name for the first time a week or so ago, it INSTANTLY jumped out at me as a wonderful "modern" name for a girl. This is a BOLD name. It's a name on the rise, no doubt. But if you think your daughter is apt to be one who is quiet, delicate, and reserved (hint: examine yourself), then this name would be a poor choice.
