原I wish that guys called Joshua would simply go by Joshua, as Josh is far too common a nickname. I like it as a full name, and picture a guy with dark clothes and extremely curly hair, who's sweet and sensitive, but not the slightest bit weak.

原Just thought this would be enlightening...Joshua is a Biblical given name derived from the Hebrew Yehoshua (יהושע). Although it is often etymologized as related to the root for "salvation," e.g. as "Jehovah rescues" or "Jehovah is salvation"., [1][2][4] the form of the word does not support this etymology. It is more likely Yeho-Shua, "YHWH's gift," with the same second element as Malki-Shua (1 Sam. 14:49), Bat-Shua (1 Chron. 3) and Avishua (1 Chron. 5:31).

原Joshua is and always has been a masculine name. It doesn't sound remotely feminine, and to say names ending in "a" are only feminine is stupid. That's like saying all names ending in consonants are only masculine.

Josh means jokester or teaser, it's not the same as Joshua.
