I was supposed to be named Melanie or Melody, but my Dad was hospitalized and his nurse was very kind to him so my parents named me after her. I grew up in the South, so I never knew if people knew my name or were just calling me Darlin. I can't imagine being called Melanie or Melody, I'm happy with my name, it suits me.
