原My name is Coby, and I like my name. It's short for Cobyan. If I'm being honest I prefer the short version.. I'm 19 and from Ireland and no, the name has no Irish history as far as I know. Just seems like my parents wanted to be original.

This name only sounds okay on tomboyish girls, if ''okay'' is defined as ''well, it's a butt-ugly, boyish name, but the girl herself is boyish and, well, not the most attractive girl out there''. The name would already sound awful on a 14-year-old girl, even if she looked masculine.

I think it is strong, masculine and friendly. However, I have surprisingly had adults who would ask me if it was after Kobe Bryant, which they disapproved of because of his alleged molestation of a young girl.
